Flood Maps
Call or e-mail us for a free flood map of your neighborhood anywhere in Massachusetts. Just tell us the nearest street intersection. We'll mail, fax or e-mail you an official flood map.
Most insurance agents can help you determine your flood zone with
reasonable certainty. However, unless they are also licensed surveyors,
engineers, or architects, they cannot formally certify the accuracy of
the flood zone determination. Most agents can arrange for a
certified flood zone determination.

Definitions
- 100 year flood area
- An area that has a 1% chance of being flooded in any given year. Over the life of a 30-year mortgage, there is at least a 26% chance that this area will be flooded.

- Areas of 100- year flood; base flood elevations and flood hazard factors not determined
- A0
- Areas of 100- year shallow flooding where depths are between 1 and 3 feet; average depths of inundation are shown, but no flood hazard factors are determined.
- AH
- Areas of 100- year shallow flooding where depths are between 1 and 3 feet; base flood elevations are shown, but no flood hazard factors are determined.
- A1-A30
- Areas of 100- year flood; base flood elevations and flood hazard determined.
- A99
- Areas of 100- year flood to be protected by flood protection system under construction; base flood elevations and flood hazard factors not determined.
- X (formerly B)
- Areas between limits of the 100- year flood and 500- year flood; or certain areas subject to 100 year flooding with average depths less than 1 foot or where the contributing drainage area is less that 1 square mile; or areas protected by levees from the base flood. (Medium shading)
- X (formerly C)
- Areas of minimal flooding. (No shading)
- D
- Areas of undetermined, but possible, flood hazards.
- V1-V30
- Areas of 100-year coastal flood with velocity (wave action); base flood elevations and flood hazard factors determined.
