New Competition in Flood Insurance Market
The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is no longer the only game in town. Private companies, notably Lloyds of London, and other companies, have entered the market with competitive rates and simplified rules.
For example, these companies offer policies that do not require elevation certificates and do not include the NFIP secondary home surcharge. Premiums are often far less than NFIP premiums. Coverages replicate and sometimes exceed NFIP coverages. Coverages can be certified to comply with the requirements of lenders.
We represent several private market flood insurance companies, as well as the NFIP.
